Travel: Best 'Quiet' beach in Southeast Asia?

Travel: Best "Quiet" beach in Southeast Asia?

Clamped between the Indian and the Pacific Oceans, the 11 countries of Southeast Asian nations are one of the best places in the world to find best quietest beaches in the world. With the exception of Laos which landlocked, there are hundreds thousands of beaches in the regions. Except for Indonesia and Philippines who practically an archipelagic countries, the rest of the countries are attached to the continental Asia.

Note: This is different than what my colleagues Alvin, put here for beaches in Philippines. (see The 10 Best Beach Destination in the Philippines) and more beaches in Indonesia would be on separate surveys, since there are too many quiet beaches in the country that has over 17,000 islands.

Best "Quiet" beach in Southeast Asia?
  1. Jerudong (Brunei) - Facing the South China Sea, Jerudong has been the centre for local fishermen. The fish market near the area is the perfect place to get fresh seafood plus veggie and fruits 24 hours a day.: 22.0%
  2. Otres 2 (Cambodia) - Located in the Sihanoukville area, the beach is divided into 3 sections actually. But for quiet place, go to Otres 2 as it is so quiet with very clean sand and sea. Make sure to prepare your food and drink to picnicking over there otherwise, you will not find any food stall or good restaurant nearby.: 14.0%
  3. Canggu (Indonesia) - Since most people on the planet know about Bali or the Island of the Gods, Canggu is one of the quiet beaches with good amenities far away from the noisy nightlife in other beaches. But, once you get to Bali, one thing that you need to do for sure, you can't end the day without witnessing the sunset in Bali, and Canggu boasts some of the most romantic beach digs to do so. Old Man's Bar and Echo Beach House offer a chilled atmosphere on the sand so you can enjoy some fresh seafood after a surf-filled day while the sun goes down.: 13.0%
  4. Nacpan, Palawan (Philippines) - 40 minutes north of El Nido in Palawan, you will find a small beach village with palm frond huts clustered in one spot on the sand, along with some fishing boats and a tasty local restaurant. With barely any artificial lighting and development, the beach is a pitch black at night where millions of stars are visible. But the best attraction is the yet to come. Later in the evening, the beach is light up with an abundance of bio-luminescence, a natural phenomenon that adores the night.: 11.0%
  5. Sipadan Island (Malaysia) - One of the most beautiful diving spots in the world. Sipadan is the only oceanic island in Malaysia. Not easy to visit. You can only stay at the surrounding islands, Mabul and Kapalai. Need to get the permits these days because only a handful of people per day may dive at the small island (regulations permit 120 dives per day).: 10.0%
  6. Koh Chang (Thailand) - Although it's the second largest island in Thailand, Koh Chang or Elephant Island is the more mysterious, quiet neighbor to backpacker infested Koh Pha Ngan and Koh Tao. Mongooses and macaques roam the jungle among an abundance of birds, including the majestic great hornbill, reptiles and other wildlife. Dolphins can sometimes be spotted off the southeast coast.: 8.0%
  7. Other: 7.0%
  8. Gwa Island (Myanmar) - You need to pay for a permit from your locale guest house at Gwa areas lodge first , and can only be reached by local fishing boat. The island has a beach on the east side and some cliffs on the west side (looking out to the Bay of Bengal); it can be walked around in an hour and a half.: 4.0%
  9. Palawan, Sentosa Island (Singapore) - The southernmost beach attached to continental Asia. During weekdays, this place is almost deserted since everyone at work. Quiet and calm places with only hours away from the busiest center of the only city state in the region.: 4.0%
  10. Jaco Island (Timor Leste) - It's the uninhabited island at the eastern part of the country. This place is not easy to get to but worth the journey. Jaco Island boasts gorgeous white sand and lovely coral for snorkeling, but you will need to pack your sense of adventure to get there. Seek detailed directions before you set off as signage is non-existent.: 4.0%
  11. Jungle Beach (Vietnam) - 3 km of quiet beach and no one living within 12 km radius. Jungle-clad mountains surround the rear of the beach that offers great trekking opportunities with possible sightings of langurs, lorises, eagles, and many other birds. Accommodation provided by local in a bamboo huts. All rooms are private, have electricity, fans and mosquito nets.: 3.0%

I am supposed to choose Nacpan, however, I heard about Britania Islands in Surigao del Sur. My friend already went to the island and posted pictures in Facebook and the place looks so quiet and beautiful. I even wrote about it on my blog.

The best quiet beach in the Southeast Asia is the Jerudong beach facing the south china sea.
It is one of the biggest and largest beach that do occupy massive land areas in Asia.
Although I have not being there before, but what I heard and read about it makes me to see it has one of the mostly popular and well organize beach in Asia.

I have not been to any Asian country in my life. But I have visited some beaches around my environs. I like taking pictures of beaches, they are really beautiful when you use them for beautification in your sitting room or bedroom. The photo of this Asian beach is not bright in exposure, but I'm thinking then place is going to be fun filled.

This beach sounds quite tempting to rest. Interesting and exotic nature with palm trees and warm sea mmm .. There is also the natural phenomenon of glitter that can be seen only here. So what more to wish for the perfect holiday in the ocean?

I'd love to meet this place in Thailand. You know when you hear about Thailand and all that stuff that people say about the spiritual experience that is coming to this place, and merge with this consciousness that is all over the country. Is something that I would never forget myself to miss before I leave this body.

I would love to go to a beach where I can observe the stars in all their glory, not to mention witness the amazing bio-luminescent phenomenon. I'm sure my wife would love it too. I'll have to do research on this.

The island itself is like Boracay in the Philippines, I like the ambiance by just looking the pictures of Jaco Island. A must see place I recommended this to you if you by chance travel this place. You will surely enjoy with your families and friends with you.

Answering this for no other reason than actually heading exactly there very soon.
Koh Rong and the surrounding islands seem beautiful, and there's quite the biodiversity around.

Aside from the white sandy beaches and small hotel on this island are no big resorts like the most other beaches in Thailand, from the next airport it is only a 45 minutes trip to Bangkok and there are very pleasant temperatures between 20 and 30 degrees.

Philippines if you take out current security worries and other unpleasant possible events , have the best quiet beaches . There is no comparison even. You could say Timor Leste has also calm beaches, but you need some infrastructure right?
